When Dr Ida Wilson and Dr Onai Mtengwa invited me to collaborate on an article for the May edition of the AgriAbout magazine, I jumped at the opportunity and swiftly made it a weekend priority. It was such a pleasure to work with two fantastically passionate researchers doing such great work, with an amazing product I have used myself, with some mind-blowing results.
Not focused on any single crop type, but more an overview of Big Data technologies, our article is a quick-view of the tools, benefits, synergies, challenges, and opportunities for Big Data use in Agriculture.
We touch on working with data, weather stations, in-field telemetry, remote sensing, yield predictions, sustainability, and more. Well rounded, but still a quick read at 4 or so pages. A good tribute to 4IR and agriculture.
